Its exterior dimensions are 65 in H x 43 in W x 18 in D (1651 mm H x 1092 mm W x 457 mm D). These yellow cabinets can store 45 gal (170 L) of flammable liquids. This model is constructed with a sturdy 18-gauge (1-mm) thick steel double-wall, with 1.5 in (38 mm) of insulating air space for fire resistance. The fully welded, not riveted, construction holds the squareness of the unit for a longer life and offers greater protection in a fire since air gaps are reduced. High-performance, self-closing doors open to 140 degrees. A patented, concealed self-close mechanism provides obstruction-free access to shelf space. The doors self-index to guarantee they will close in tight sequence. Continuous piano hinges ensure the doors close smoothly every time. When used properly as designed, safety cabinets with self-closing doors shut automatically in case of a fire. The self-closing doors, under tension, are held open by using fusible links.
